SI - Single Inspection

Our single service, often called "Mock Inspection", is our most popular service. Businesses of any size benefit from Salon Inspector's unbiased evaluation and can grow to become better professionals from there.

The single service includes:

  • Thorough inspection of the establishment in accordance with the guidelines of the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and Salon Inspector's recommended best industry practices
  • Comprehensive report of the findings
  • Recommendations to mitigate risk and to ensure compliance in the future
  • Follow up phone consultation in which the report is explained in detail to the owner/manager

SI - Educational Classes

Staff Class (approx. 1.5 - 2.5 hours)
Our staff training is the perfect class for the entire salon. We encourage having "everybody" participating mandatory and to not exclude receptionists or cleaning personnel. During the training we go over all rules of the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, SI Best Industry Practices and refresh your licensees' memories about the routines they have learned in beauty school.

After reviewing the Board's rules together we encourage all participants to discuss their challenges in following proper procedures. The discussion usually takes about half the time of the training, depending how big the group is. We have experienced that the collective brainstorming is extremely valuable to all participants. Together we discuss old routines and work to develop new ones that are easier to implement and usually less time consuming. Being part of the development of new routines almost guarantees that the participants will implement them.

Owner / Manager Class (approx. 2 hours)
Same as Staff Class, we cover all rules of the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, SI Best Industry Practices and any applicable OSHA requirements.


SI Undercover Client

We send one of our trained experts your way - incognito!

Posing as a regular salon customer, the SI Undercover Client will pay attention to the details your real customers experience every day. Your salon and staff will be judged based on a set of standards Salon Inspector has developed after running a survey with beauty salon clients age 25 - 55. These standards reflect the Salon Inspector Mission of a safe and healthy salon environment and the areas that salon customers seem to be specifically picky about. We are very flexible with this particular service and are usually able to incorporate the owner's ideas as well.

After the evaluation of the Undercover Client's report, we are able to provide the salon's leadership with an unbiased summary of issues found. This is a very effective way to rate specific employees/staff members for example. The summary will always be 100% objective because our Undercover Client is not subject to any internal problems and does not prefer one person over another.

Membership Program

The Salon Inspector Membership is a great way to ensure your business stays compliant with rules and regulations at all times and thanks to our low monthly fees it is very affordable to become a member.  If you are a member with us, our Inspectors visit your establishment unannounced several times per year to perform in depth evaluations. We currently offer three different levels of membership: Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Choosing the right plan is not always easy, but to give you at least an idea, we have listed some of our criteria below:

   

Not always "more helps more" - if you have 12 or less licensees at your salon, the Silver option is probably the right choice for you.

   

For establishments with 12 to 20 staff members we usually recommend our Gold membership.

   

If your salon has more than 20 people working at any given time, our advice would be to get you inspected on a monthly basis, and that would be the Platinum option.

   

There are many factors involved in the process and you may end up having a big salon on a small membership - it really always depends on the specific situation.

   

Keep in mind, choosing the right option for your establishment is crucial, and we are more than happy to help you find the best program for you.

Silver Membership

  • Two (2) unannounced inspections of the premises per year (documentation of failures of compliance with SI standards and guidelines).
  • Two comprehensive written reports including photos of compliance failures (if needed), and detailed recommendations to mitigate risk and to ensure compliance in the future,
  • Once the salon is compliant with SI's "Minimum Requirements" we provide a free listing on Saloninspector.com in our "featured Salons" section (company name/logo, services offered, address, link to website).
  • Salon Inspector Seal Of Excellence will be posted on entrance door once SI's Minimum Requirements are met.

Gold Membership

  • Quarterly (4) unannounced inspections of the premises per year for up to 12 stations per inspection (documentation of failures of compliance with SI standards and guidelines)
  • Comprehensive written report after each inspection, including photos of compliance failures (if needed), and detailed recommendations to mitigate risk and to ensure compliance in the future
  • Once the salon is compliant with SI's "Minimum Requirements" we provide a free listing on Saloninspector.com in our "featured Salons" section (company name/logo, services offered, address, link to website).
  • Salon Inspector Seal Of Excellence will be posted on entrance door once SI's Minimum Requirements are met.
  • 25 % discount on one SI - Standards training Session for Staff (90 min.) with Salon Inspector certificate, including all attendees' names, for display in establishment.

Platinum Membership

  • Monthly (12) unannounced inspections of the premises per year for up to 12 stations per inspection (documentation of failures of compliance with SI standards and guidelines)
  • Comprehensive written report after each inspection, including photos of compliance failures (if needed), and detailed recommendations to mitigate risk and to ensure compliance in the future
  • One Undercover Client per year to evaluate level of service, including written reports on service, and additional Undercover Client Services at a 25% discount
  • Once the salon is compliant with SI's "Minimum Requirements" we provide a free listing on Saloninspector.com in our "featured Salons" section (company name/logo, services offered, address, link to website).
  • Salon Inspector Seal Of Excellence will be posted on entrance door once SI's Minimum Requirements are met.
  • 50 % discount on one SI - Standards training Session for Staff (90 min.) with Salon Inspector certificate, including all attendees' names, for display in establishment.
